Distractions
Just to avoid bad, bad, baaaad thoughts from filling my head, I’ve been immersing myself in a lot of things. Call them distractions from reality if you will but at this point, music, anime, books and TV series addiction is a much better alternative to hooking up with someone I’ve been considering hooking up with just for fun. Bad huh? Well, it gets worse– Gus may be leaving for the US in a couple of weeks and he’ll be staying there for like three weeks or more. So that makes the temptation to “couple-up” with a prospect even more tempting– I am only human after all and yes, I do on occasion feel the need for companionship. Rats! I hope my current distractions hold out for me. *looks worried*
While looking up the article about Coldplay’s progress on their new album, I came across Yahoo’s adult alternative station. There were familiar names in the playlist like Goo Goo Dolls, Avril Lavigne, and The Fray but I also discovered to my delight some awesome not-so known bands here in the Philippines. In fact, one band drew my eye (When you see the name, you’ll figure out why) and I fell hard for them. Although far from being newbies in the music industry, Blue October (Woot! I love their name) got their airplay when their song, “Calling You” got included in the American Wedding OST. With lyrics like, “I have to block out thoughts of you/So I don’t lose my head/They crawl in like a cockroach/Leaving babies in my bed,” this group is definitely a keeper.
I should also mention that today, I have had only 3 hours of sleep. Why? Because I marathoned Grey’s Anatomy. And it is bloody Mcgreat! ^_^ I think my character is trapped somewhere between Cristina Yang and Meredith Grey and if my character was written into the show I’d be this ball-busting, brilliant district attorney who had to be operated on because my character was shot by an evil criminal and I end up being friends with Izzie because I rejected Alex. Eek— I’m rambling! Must have more caffeine… and Grey’s Anatomy episodes along with Heroes! Read the rest of this entry »
