Bratty Girl’s Rantings

JoanI’m taking a page off of my bestie’s blog…

During a class discussion, one of our professors actually said majority of Pinoys are stupid and that as future lawyers, we shouldn’t expect too much “thinking” or comprehension to be coming from the client side. I disagree.

Filipinos are not stupid, they just sometimes happen to be do stupid things. Idle minds and idle hands tend to think the least and they bring about the most injury. And I have the perfect example of what seems to be a sharp mind who has apparently nothing more constructive to do.

Recently, I posted a blog in friendster about my close call with hold-uppers and while I sincerely thank those who’ve taken time to read my previous and recent postings, I’ve had the luck to encounter what could best be described as a critic. Now, I don’t know that person or perhaps maybe I do from my NCCA days but as it is, to me that person is only one of the madding crowd.

That person seems to be older, seems to be worldly, that person seems to be imbued with the wisdom of his age and as evidenced by that person’s post, that person can articulate himself well. But frankly, I don’t know what’s up with him, he seems to enjoy posting comments that contradict my blog. While I fervently believe that freedom is speech is important, I can’t help but ask myself, “What the heck is wrong with this guy?” He apparently reads my blog and THEN proceeds to disagree with it but his opinions turn absolutely baseless! Pardon me for saying so, but he also seems to be dyslexic! I don’t think he even reads my blog properly or maybe he does but his brain can’t seem to catch up with the speed of his typing fingers.

In my previous post, “Close Call”, he posted a comment, “Tsk tsk tsk…apart from what happened to your friend, you guys just instinctively thought these men were robbers? So paraniod, hahahaha. Anyway, careful next time. Brats don’t ride jeepneys, go get a cab or something. Duh?”

Well duh! First of all, let me just say, it was so crass of him to have laughed at other people’s misfortune, secondly I say to him, “CAN YOU READ? If you can then you must have seen the line, “We walked away and when we were at a goodly distance, Joseph whispered, “Jo, sila yung nang-hold-up sakin!”

We didn’t instinctively know that those men were hold-uppers as he so succinctly put it, Joseph, my friend who got held up POSITIVELY identified them. Also, I may be paranoid at times but its what I call street-smarts because this brat actually COMMUTES. Read that? I commute everyday just to get to where I want to go, I ride a jeepney, a bus and I ride the LRT just to get from San Juan to Makati to Manila. I do it for convenience and lastly, yes I am a brat because I’m not a saint enough to tolerate such crap from a bigger brat like you
